Assistant Photographer
The Assistant Photographer assists the assigned photographers to capture the spirit of this heritage event. Responsible for photo release forms, equipment, and to set-up photo points. This person should be people oriented, and this volunteer opportunity is perfect for students in photography or videography courses. A background  in one or both of these disciplines is recommended.

Exhibitor Assistant
CHOO is looking for a resourceful, energetic, organized individual to ensure a positive event experience for all participating organizations/exhibitors. You will assist with the safe and on-schedule set-up and dismantle of all exhibits/tables. You will also work with exhibitors to ensure all of their needs are met. This will include watching exhibitors’ tables when they need assistance, serve as on-site contact for all exhibit operators, greet/orient them, ensure they received lunch, and provide key information and feedback.

Set Up and Take Down Crew
CHOO/COPO is looking for individuals who would like to assist with the set up and take down of equipment and materials, such as tables, chairs, tents and the posting of signs. This also includes the set up/take down of activity areas, such as face painting. If you are energetic and possess the ability to lift heavy equipment (such as tents and tables), this is a great opportunity for you! Flexible shifts are available, with start times at 8:30 AM and take down shifts at 4:00 PM.

Technical Stage Director
CHOO/COPO is looking for a resourceful, team-oriented, up-beat, technical “go-to” guy/gal who can assist with the on-site set-up and dismantling of technical elements such as audio, lighting, staging, electrical systems; as well as to assist with troubleshooting all elements of the production while supporting the Site Manager with on-site logistics. If you have a technical background in live performance productions and project management, CHOO/COPO wants you!

Survey Administrator
CHOO/COPO requires a detail oriented person who is outgoing and friendly to administer surveys to visitors. Help us discover where people are from and what they enjoy most about Colonel By Day. This is a perfect position for students interested in developing their research skills and learning how to administer surveys. Training will be provided. If you enjoy working with people and are easily approachable, this is the perfect position for you!

Children’s Activities Assistant
CHOO/COPO is looking for energetic and outgoing individuals who love working with children. Children’s Activities Assistants will oversee the Colonel By Day kid's area, will make sure that the children's games run on schedule, and will engage with children and their accompanying families. Children’s Activities Assistants will also work closely with our profressional face painter to help re-fill supplies and water; keep the line in order, and entertain kids.

Stage Manager
CHOO is looking for a Stage Manager to ensure our stage runs smoothly. You will work closely with the Stage Technician, directly with talent/performers, and ensure that the stage runs on schedule. Your tasks will include (but are not limited to) greeting/welcoming talent/performers and ensuring they have everything they need. The Stage Manager makes performers feel at ease and a part of this amazing event by being sensitive to different personalities and their needs as well as balancing these with the needs of your stage. If you are an individual that is conscientious, energetic, organized and people-oriented, this position is perfect for you!

Volunteer Coordinator
CHOO is looking for an organized, detailed-oriented individual to coordinate and manage the needs of all Colonel By Day volunteers. You will greet and orient volunteers, ensure all volunteers have nametags, serve as a check-in/out point where key information is provided and feedback is given to the Site Manager. You will also be responsible for the set-up of the volunteer tent/table and coordinate the storage and distribution of food and beverages to volunteers. All supplies will be provided - all you need to bring is your ability to make others smile!

Floater
Do a number of these positions appeal to you? Then volunteer as a Floater for Colonel By Day! Floaters conduct a number or different tasks and activities throughout the day, which includes filling in for other volunteer positions during break periods, directing and tracking the number of visitors in attendance, provide assistance to busy activity areas, and run errands around the site. A Floater should be someone flexible and friendly, with an organized nature. If this sounds like you, then volunteer as a Floater and experience all the different aspects of Colonel By Day.

Colonel By Day Ambassador
CHOO/COPO is looking for Colonel By Day Ambassadors to provide front line, top calibre customer service in creating an exceptional experience for all our visitors, performers and suppliers on site. Ambassadors serve as the key point of contact for visitors around the site and provide key information about the activities that take place throughout the day. These volunteers must be out-going, possess a positive demeanor, and are able to retain and communicate key information and feedback. French/English speaking ability is imperative.

Assistant(/e) photographe
Le titulaire du poste est responsable d’aider les photographes désignés à capturer l’esprit de cet événement du patrimoine. Il assume la responsabilité de maintenir les permis de photos. Cet individu doit être sociable. Cette opportunité bénévole est parfaite pour des étudiants qui ont un milieu familial de photographie ou de vidéographie. Une compréhension des ces disciplines seront très utile.

Assistant(/e) aux organismes du patrimoine exposants
Le/la titulaire du poste s’assure que l’expérience est enrichissant pour tous les participants exposants. Cet individu aide à dresser et à démonter les expositions de groupe à l’heure. Il travaille avec les exposants pour garantir la réalisation de tous leurs besoins. Ca compris la surveillance des tables exposants, la communication intermédiaire entre tous les organismes exposants, l’orientation des participants, et l’organisation du diner.

Une équipe d’assemblage et de désassemblage
Cette équipe aide à monter et à démonter l’équipement et les matériaux des régions d’activités, (y compris les tables, les chaises, et les affiches des organisations). Ce rôle est bon pour des gens énergétiques et forts (qui peuvent lever l’équipement lourd). Les heures sont flexibles : périodes de travail commencent à 8h et à 16h.

Directeur(/ice) technique de scène
Le/la titulaire du poste aide avec tous les tâches techniques : l’audio, l’éclairage, l’étape, et le système électrique. De plus, il dirige la production en soutenant le directeur(/ice) du site avec les logistiques sur place. C’est un rôle idéal pour des individus qui ont une expérience technique ou cela de la gestion de projets.

Administrateur(/euse) des sondages
Le/la titulaire du poste administre des sondages aux visiteurs. Il nous aide à découvrir où viennent nos visiteurs, et laquelle les plaisent de la journée Colonel By.

Assistant(/e) des activités des enfants
Le/la titulaire du poste doit s’amuser avec des enfants et doit être énergétique. Il/Elle est responsable de mener les activités des enfants et de les engager. Les assistants des activités des enfants travaillent aussi avec le peintre de visage, en l’aidant avec ses besoins et ceux des enfants dans la queue.  

Directeur(/ice) de la scène
Le/la titulaire du poste travaille étroitement avec le technicien de scène, et aussi directement avec les artistes en s’assurant que l’horaire est suivie. Il accueille les artistes et les rendre à l’aise.

Coordinateur(/ice) des bénévoles
Le/la titulaire est responsable à accueillir et à orienter les bénévoles. Il assure qu’ils ont leurs porte-noms. Cet individu serve comme un moyen d’information en donnant des remarques au directeur(/ice) d’événement. Il monte and démonte les tentes des bénévoles. Il est responsable de la distribution de nourriture et des boissons aux bénévoles. Une bonne attention aux détailles pour servir les besoins de toutes les bénévoles de la journée du Colonel By est requise.

Travailleur(/euse) mobile
Le/la titulaire est responsable à faire beaucoup des tâches diverses. C’est un rôle dynamique qui incorpore beaucoup des activités à travers de la journée, en remplaçant les autres bénévoles pendant les pauses. Il compte le numéro des visiteurs au site. De plus, il offre de l’aide aux secteurs occupés, et il va faire une commission pour les autres bénévoles autour du site.

Ambassadeur(/euse) de la journée du Colonel By
Le/la titulaire accueille tous les visiteurs qui viennent au site. Il agit comme une liaison entre les visiteurs, les artistes, les fournisseurs, et les organiseurs, en donnant de l’information utile des activités qui se passèrent pendant la journée. Une capacité a parler les deux langues officielles est impératif.
