Celebrate Heritage Day – “My Canada! / Mon Canada!”

February 21, 2017 from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm

Mayor Jim Watson will recognize the importance of Canada’s 150 celebrations in Ottawa as he proclaims Tuesday, February 21st Heritage Day in Ottawa.

Heritage Day is part of Heritage Week, a nation-wide celebration that encourages all Canadians to explore their local heritage, to get involved with stewardship and advocacy groups, and to visit museums, archives, and places of architectural significance.

Heritage Day is a chance to recognize the contributions of the many dedicated staff and volunteers promoting heritage conservation and educating the public about the city’s history.

This year’s theme is “My Canada! / Mon Canada!” in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Confederation. “My Canada!” will inspire Canadians to embrace, explore and enjoy their own heritage places and spaces across the country. Celebrate your Canada during Heritage Week, February 20-26, 2017!

Join the Museums and Heritage Programs Branch in partnership with the Council of Heritage Organizations in Ottawa | le Conseil des organismes du patrimoine d’Ottawa at Ottawa City Hall, browse informational displays and mingle with over 45 exhibitors at the 2017 Heritage Showcase.
