To celebrate Ottawa 2017, the Diefenbunker: Canada’s Cold War Museum and Pierre Brault, Ottawa’s multi award-winning playwright and performer, have come together to create a dramatic and dynamic journey through the life and times of one of Canada’s most progressive leaders – John Diefenbaker.
Presented in the Museum which bears his name in the 60th anniversary year of Diefenbaker’s election as Prime Minister, this immersive theatre piece will explore the life and times of this influential yet oft overlooked leader who had such a profound and positive impact on Canadian society, with particular focus on his advocacy for human rights, women’s equality, First Nations issues, the repeal of the death penalty, and his ground-breaking anti-nuclear stance.
