Young Canada Works – Now accepting applications for the 2019 YCW in Heritage Organizations (Summer Jobs) Program!

The Canadian Museums Association (CMA) is pleased to announce its renewed commitment to delivering the 2019 Young Canada Works program – a shared initiative with the Department of Canadian Heritage. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to bring innovative ideas and competitive skills to your organization, while providing a student with a valuable and rewarding work experience!

Applications are now being accepted for the YCW in Heritage Organizations (Summer Jobs) program stream.

Application Deadline – Tuesday, January 15, 2019

• Employers must meet the YCWHO program eligibility criteria;
• In 2018, CMA funded over 1,450 summer jobs. Please note that a substantial portion of CMA’s funding is reserved for small and medium-sized museums with annual operating budgets of less than $1 million;
• Summer jobs are intended for students returning to full-time studies in fall 2019 who meet the YCWHO youth participant eligibility criteria;
• Summer jobs must be short-term (6 to 16 weeks), typically running from May to September;
• Students must work between 30 and 40 hours per week. *Part-time employment is permitted for candidates with a disability; and
• Employer applicants can request up to $8,000 in financial support from YCW per position.
