Carleton Graduate Heritage Conservation Symposium

April 28, 2018 - 09:00 - 16:30

The Carleton University Heritage Conservation Symposium is a one-day event run by graduate students in the School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies. The event aims to bring together students, academics and professionals in critical discussion on heritage- and conservation-related issues and questions.

The annual event began in 2004 under the direction of the late Herb Stovel, who was at that time an associate professor at the School and coordinator of the Heritage Conservation Programme. Since that time, the Symposium has been held on topics such as Does Designation Work?, Many Voices in Heritage, Heritage and Technology, Mind the Gap: Crossing Borders in Heritage and Conservation, Unsettling Heritage: Critical/Creative Conservation, Not My Heritage: New Identities/Voices in Conservation, and most recently Dynamic + Migrating Landscapes: Re-visioning Heritage Conservation
