Did you know that half of all the food in the world is produced with the help of fertilizer? On October 13, we celebrate fertilizer as one of the most important inventions of our time!
Join us in the museum’s Soil Lab on Global Fertilizer Day – where special activities will be held throughout the day. Little ones can make a sprouting seed necklace to take home, and use microscopes to examine the tiny critters that help recycle nutrients in the soil, all while learning about the needs of plants.
Plus, we’ll be offering special demonstrations – taking place at 10:30 a.m and 2:30 p.m. – to further explore the importance of fertilizer in food production. Help find out if soils from the farm have all the nutrients needed for healthy plant growth and learn how fertilizers can help achieve stronger, healthier, and better yields at home and on the farm.
